About 38 million Americans (1 in 10) have diabetes. Approximately 90-95% of those cases are type 2. Prediabetes, which affects approximately 98 million Americans, is a risk factor for Type 2 diabetes. This webinar describes Medical Nutrition Therapy Guidelines based on ADA and AND recommendations for individuals with or at risk for Type 2 diabetes and highlights the role of dietary protein, including whey protein on metabolic health. Using a case-based approach, participants will apply the evidence discussed in this program to support a client in decision making around diabetes management.

2. Describe the role of dietary protein intake on markers of metabolic health and diabetes
